Bringing Joy of Reading to 10,000+ Schools: Sponsors Making March Reading Month Possible
New York, March 7, 2025 — For many schools across the country, access to enriching literacy experiences can be a challenge. But thanks to the generosity of our generous sponsors, March National Reading Month has become an opportunity for over 10,000 schools to bring award-winning authors directly into their classrooms — at no cost.
Through Literacy Forum by Book an Author, students from PreK to 12th grade can participate in free, 30-minute virtual author visits throughout March, complete with engaging storytelling and take-home worksheets to inspire young readers. These webinar-style sessions are accessible from anywhere, ensuring that no school — no matter its budget — misses out on the magic of books.
This initiative is fully funded by five incredible sponsors who believe in the power of reading:
Oxbridge Preschool: Play-based learning for bright young minds in Elmhurst and Flushing
Duck Duck Eco Goods: Sustainable gifts for eco-conscious families
Outschool: Accessible, high-quality virtual learning, anytime, anywhere
Snowy Village PNW: Korean dessert cafe in Seattle, Bellevue, Federal Way, Portland
Women with Vision International: Empowering women through growth and success
With a lineup of authors ready to spark imagination, this year’s events take place every Friday in March at 1 PM EST / 10 am PST, each tailored to a different grade level. Schools can easily sign up at BookAnAuthor.com/events and join thousands of educators making reading more exciting for their students.
No cost, no catch, just a commitment to literacy, made possible by those who care.
